In August of 1967, John Green cast a track he found on a dirt road
running between Blue Creek and Onion Mountain, California. It has been
labeled, alternatively, as the Blue Creek Mountain or Onion Mountain
cast. Green wrote of the prints in his early publications. It remains a
controversial cast, as it may the product of Ray Wallace's hoaxing.
Such casts are important to study to try to learn from the fakery in the
database. Researcher Matt Crowley, furthermore, disputes claims of
"dermal ridges" on the original cast, saying they are casting artifacts
caused when the plaster dries.
